1812 Theatre Company presents: Handbagged by Moira Buffini

Directed by Richard Noakes

The monarch. Her most powerful subject. One believed there was no such thing as society.

The other had vowed to serve it. Margaret Thatcher once told CNN: "Of course I am obstinate in defending our liberties and our law. That's why I carry a big handbag." In Moira Buffini's play, however, the Iron Lady is up against another very powerful woman  - one with a handbag of her own, Elizabeth II.

The 1812 Theatre Company is our in-house amateur company, with a rich and varied showhistory, producing four productions and the ever-popular 1812 Pantomime each year.
