Comedy vs Climate Change - Rye Humour

Comedy vs Climate Change is coming to Helmsley this November!

Join us at Helmsley Arts Centre at 7.30pm for Rye Humour, a variety night of comedy featuring some amazing up-and-coming comics and headlined by a TV regular stand-up – the wonderful Paddy Young. Paddy is Chortle’s most recent Best Newcomer winner and was nominated as 2023’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer with his debut show – which had a full sell-out run.

Originally from Scarborough, Paddy won the 2023 BBC New Comedy Awards northern heat, and made it to the Glasgow final. His stand up special was filmed by US record label 800 Pound Gorilla Records and is to be released shortly.

The iNews called his tour this year one of their 'culture highlights for 2024'. TV credits include: Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV), BBC New Comedy Awards (BBC), Timewasters (ITV), Random Acts (Channel 4), Dive In & Do It (Sky). His online sketches, with Ed Night, have over 100 million views and were recommended by Stewart Lee in his newsletter. “Young is surely on the road to stardom.” - Rolling Stone ★★★★★ "One of British comedy’s most intriguing new voices" - The Independent ★★★★

This gig has been developed in collaboration with Ryevitalise Landscape Partnership scheme, as part of a project using humour to explore environmental issues based around North Yorkshire’s local rivers.
