The Yorkshire coastline around Flamborough Head, Spurn Point and Bemptom Cliffs has been the starting point for much of Chris' work. The focus is on the vertical structures of the hedgerows and sea defenses that punctuate the multiple horizons of the sea, sky and land. Chris uses hot wax and caustic soda to make lino relief plates. The lates are overlaid using transparent colour to develop depth and texture. The intention is to create a sense of place without direct reference to it.
