'Til the Boys Come Home with Jessa Liversidge

Wartime women; their lives, loves, songs and stories

Join Jessa Liversidge and her accompanist Malcolm Maddock for an evening of nostalgia, emotion, and a little humour as we pay tribute to the women of WWI and WWII. A treasure trove of moving and uplifting songs will be intertwined with poems, diaries and letters written by some of the unsung wartime heroes – the women.

“A superbly structured and beautifully delivered performance. Jessa is a master at combining performance, emotion and a warm humour into her shows. A gem of an evening.”

The Flanagan Collective on “Keep the home fires burning”.

"A special, wonderful evening of music, informal and informative." (Neil Foster, BBC Radio York on “Some enchanted Sondheim”.)

Audience feedback

"Mentioned it to a friend so ditched rehearsal and had the most wonderful evening listening to all my favourite songs including my absolute favourite from Evening Primrose, Take me to the World. Utter delight. Fabulous programme, brilliant pianist and utterly delightful singing. More please."

"Thank you so much for a delightful evening last night Jessa - a truly professional and polished performance. It was a lovely programme, and some of the songs were beautifully and seamlessly segue'd - vocally and musically. Malcolm is always easy on the ear, never intruding, but consistently empathetic and supportive to the performer. Congratulations to both of you!"

"The whole evening was perfect - your voice, the programme and the atmosphere you created. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!"
