Justin Hill - The Man Who Would Be King: Harald Hardrada, Jerusalem and 1066

It’s 950 years since the most tumultuous weeks in British History, when England was invaded twice, and three kings fought for the throne. While the events of Hastings are well known, the two battles before that, fought in Yorkshire are much less well known. In an informative and lively talk, Sunday Times and Washington Post Book of the Year Author, Justin Hill, will recount the life of King Harald Hardrada, Thunderbolt of the North, and one most extraordinary lives of the Middle Ages.
